Cherry blossoms from momiji: Sankeien Gardens, Yokohama, Japan

Re-posting this one on the front page because it was almost a year ago I shot this and it was such a nice day out. Plus, the IR camera really made this scene surreal.

The foliage was momiji [maple] but the infra-red turned it like cherry blossom. :-)

  • Infra-red converted D300
  • 14mm f/2.8
  • Custom White-Balance set at 3004K and -46Tint [taken from a patch of green grass]
  • Channel mixed, curves and colour balance added as adjustment layers in Photoshop.

  1. Excellent shot, the cherry blossoms really complement the unique architecture of the building.
