Eye contact; Takeshita Street, Harajuku, Tokyo

Sniping the main street in Harajuku with my 200mm. Always fun. This lady caught me dead-on. The eye-contact was immediate. She wasn't too happy but as she walked past me I turned the screen of the camera towards her and got a smile.....

Nikon D300

Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED @ f/2.8

Processed through Nik Silver Efex Pro for the feel I used to get by pushing Tri-X film from 400 to 1600ISO and over-agitating it in the developer [i.e. a little over-contrasty]

  1. This is a great shot. Always good to get a smile from people when you do these shots

  2. if it was me i would ask for a copy, or a print or something haha! but yes, it is a great shot. The stern look adds a plus, because usually i wouldn't think people like to be photographed candidly. Turned out nicely here, especially in mono.

  3. Great shots! Love this one particularly. Something unique in how you see things, i can only hope to be half as good as you. Keep shooting.

  4. She looks great, especially with that UHU dress.

  5. Great photo (again). The expression is just great! I really like the you not only include the information about your settings but lens and camera as well.
