Helicopter flight over Tokyo at dusk

Big thanks to +Ben Torode for the opportunity to fill the second seat in the chopper for yesterday's flight.

Perfect weather. Perfect light. Not so much wind as earlier in the week, which was nice... as we had the doors off of the chopper and although it was cold, the wind earlier in the week would have made it much colder and the flight much more difficult.

This shot is looking towards a sunset over Mount Fuji with Shinjuku in the left foreground.

  1. Great light & compo Alfie !

  2. Tokyo is a wonderful city, I hope one day to meet her.

  3. just beautiful. Is that Fuji San ?

  4. Fuji san appears small and far away…you have captured all of Tokyo in one shot. Nice point of view.

Was wondering if u stayed longer to capture more city lights as they were switched on or whether a longer exposure was possible from the moving helicopter

  5. This is something I have always wanted to do. I’ll need to try this one day…

  6. Hi Alife, This is amazing, I’m about to travel to Tokyo next week. I’m researching to find a Doors off helicopter ride to shoots so some photos. Would you please let me know what Helicopter company you went up in?

    Thank you.
