Hiroshima and Kure from the air: Hasselblad H4D-40, 80mm

Flying into Oita last week afforded me a great view of Hiroshima and the nearby port and naval dockyard of Kure.

I first went to Kure in 2002, after transiting the Inland Sea by JR ferry from Matsuyama in Shikoku.

There was a great youth hostel in Kure then. It might be there still. I remember the walk up the hill from the station being punishing.

Kure is a fascinating port and in this photo you can see two flat-tops alongside the docks.

Not bad for being shot out of the window, which was badly fogged and scratched.

The detail at the bottom of the shot is a 100% excerpt from the main photo.
