The characters for my illustrated 'noir' novel are forming. So, without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I give you: Debu Watanabe. The podgy, greasy, pathalogically irritating member of the gang. He laughs at his own jokes, can't run quick enough to catch you if you piss him off but dont let that fool you. He has five younger, faster brothers who do all his dirty work for him...... "No-one knew his first name. Rumour on the street was that he didn't have one. But you only got to call 'Debu' for two reasons; if you were his friend, or if you didn't fancy living any longer than it took for him to finish eating or finish his cigarette, one or the other of which you always saw him doing. 'People said the cigarettes kept his weight in check. Frankly, I didn't give a damn. I had the whole Watanabe Family on my tail and there were meaner, slimmer, faster ones to worry about than Debu.......'
