Japanese trees in late afternoon sun; Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens, Tokyo

This stand of trees has had me spellbound on each occasion I have been to these gardens. The straw banding on the trunks is one thing that always catches my eye, especially the way that the band on each tree is at a different angle and is obviously lighter than the trunk; they draw my eye. But today the light was amazing, coming in low and dappling slightly as it passed through the trees in the background. Beautiful and tranquil and there was a little warmth in the rays too. Didn't want to leave.
