Koinobori 鯉幟/こいのぼり: Hase, Near Kamakura, Japan

Koinobori 鯉幟/こいのぼり, meaning "carp banner" in Japanese, are carp-shaped wind socks traditionally flown in Japan to celebrate Children's Day. These were on the beach in Hase, just outside Kamakura. I took my son out for the day today and we stood for some time to marvel at this kite made of koinobori which must have been about 100m high.
