Picnic at the shrine; Kamakura, Japan

This couple were having a picnic on the porch of a very impressive but off-the-beaten-track shrine in Kamakura. Lovely summer vibe. So peaceful here. The fella has an ECM Records t-shirt on. I used to do some business with them back in the UK. Great contemporary, independent record label.

Thanks to Jee [Sushicam] for organising a lovely walk around some the lesser-known spots in Kamakura.

  1. Excellent her expression. Nice light 🙂

  2. Sayaka

さすがプロ。so subtle, so delicate but the dynamic green. I can smell the pure and clean air of green. I can feel the summer breeze.

  3. Steve

Wonderful as usual. I was wondering, Did you need to use an exposure compensation? What kind of post processing do you usually go through?

  4. Steve: Thanks for your comment. I used about -0.7 of a stop of exp.comp. when I processed the RAW file. A little burning-in of the wood floor, then ran it through an action I made to emulate some Fuji film I used to shoot.

  5. great composition again! well done.

  6. Incredible shots, just discovered this site and will certainly be back to see your wonderful photographs.
