I took one of my nature-loving students, Yuka-san, to a garden in Tokyo she had never been to before and which I only discovered a week or two ago; Koishikawa Korakuen, in Iidabashi. The ume [plum blossom] is well on the way now and we caught the place bathed in a bit of late afternoon sun. Lovely.
Shooting nature puts me in a really good place; relaxed, still, zen-like in my one-ness with all around me. Bloody marvellous way to spend a couple of hours and, despite being slap-bang in the middle of Tokyo, a superb antidote to the city bustle.
