Sakura: Omori, Tokyo

Had a wander after a meeting yesterday and found one tree on my way home, near home in fact, that was out in full blossom.

Love the coming of the blossom here in Japan. Means spring is on the way and I was corrected from what I thought was ume [plum] by my good friend Mika Watanabe. She knows her flowers... and she is 98% sure this is cherry of some kind. Thanks Mika.

This lens weighs a ton, has a front filter diameter of 112mm and is a bitch to shoot at f/2.8 [about f/1.2 equivalent on 35mm or full-frame digi]. But, the light was fading, I never really run this digi-back over 200ISO and wide-open was the only way to go. Still, got the sharpness where it counts.
