Sandstorms come to Tokyo: Tokyo Tower from Roppongi Hills

I was out yesterday to do a shoot for a client in London but never got my shots because of, wait for it, sandstorms in Tokyo.

Myself, my wife and two of our kids were in Ginza and heading for the subway station, to go up to Hiroo and shoot, when we could see the sky changing colour towards Hibiya Park.

One minute it was a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies, the next....

...dark, orange, yellow.. looked very threatening and as I looked at street level towards the end of the road you could actually see the air.

We dipped quickly into the subway entrance. Wanted to get underground as I didn't really fancy my kids being out in whatever it was that was rapidly heading up the street towards us.

They went home, I headed to Roppongi to shoot a few pics from a good vantage point and then headed home myself shortly afterwards.

All in all a weird day. Odd natural events so near to 3/11 are especially unsettling...
