  1. Unbelievable how clear and detailed those fisherman silhouettes came up.

Fantastic photo. I like everything: composition, details, mood.

    Congratulations!

  2. Alfie,

I am inherently opposed to HDR photography as I view it more as an art medium or photographic collage at best. Having said that… beautiful image! and i appreciate the fact that you didnt over do it with the HDR!

    Amazing image.. Love the view.

  4. Sean. Thanks. Just curious [without any edge on the curiosity] as to what other kkinds of photography you are opposed to: photograms, cross-processing, studio, flash, focus-stacking in macro photography, high-speed photography. I see the point with HDR but it was invented first by a French dude in 1870, regained popularity a little after 1940 in the US and then massively – due to the ease of making the things – with the advent of digital.

The problem has been that it is easy for people to make HDRs, difficult to get them right but easy to make the bad ones.

  5. great black and white image! comgratulations!

  6. Incredible shoot.

What a great black and white shoot.and an awesome sky.

    Well done ;-))

  7. Very fine composition and fantastic b&w! How many wonderful photos in your blog! I'm happy to discover it!

  8. Wowsies at that sky mate.

    Sigh, watermarks.

  9. Azhar: apologies but the watermarks are a fact of life, my friend. If my work is online, it has to be watermarked otherwise people have used it, not credited me for it and even attributed copyright to themselves in the past.

  10. wow wow wow!! This is amazing 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  11. Breathtaking photo; I like the composition, this sky and lighting.

  12. I love your blog. I love your photos. You are great inspiration! I'm going to write about your blog on my blog.

  13. Great Shot!!! The Sky… *phew*

  14. HDR or whatever – I don't care. It's a very good photo but the sky is utterly wonderful! Love it!

  15. I love this black and white HDR. You know I've been wanting to try this out ever since you explained it to me and now I might just have to get off my ass and try it …hopefully with the same awesome results.

  16. I like the depth and texture of the image, is strong.

  17. Sean

Point well taken … I understand its just another "process", and you are correct … its the over-saturation of very poorly executed HDR (lately) that I'm opposed to. Thanks for making my point for me… and again… GREAT image!
