Sweet Lolita in Shinjuku sanchome, Tokyo

I'd been to drop off some shots with a client and was just having a walk around Shinjuku. Wasn't very happy with what I was shooting and just decided, on a whim, to walk into a different street. Thirty seconds later, this lady walked towards me who, I am reliably informed by some friends, is known as a 'sweet lolita'.

Didn't nail the focus on her perfectly. In fact, it seems to have front-focused. This was shot at f/1.4 and at that aperture sometimes the lens doesn't behave itself perfectly every time.

Anyway, got her dress in pretty good focus but not her face.

  1. This photo captures a side of everyday Japan which we normally only see in very static and posed photos from Harajuku. Thanks for sharing the information on this photo.
