Taxi driver: Shibuya, Tokyo

After having dinner with my family I got out for a little walk with the camera. Been a while since I just went for a wander to take some photos.

Always like shooting the taxi drivers in Tokyo. Such expressive faces.

Nikon D800E
Nikkor 135mm f/2 DC
Shot on the camera's DX crop to give 200mm equivalent
1/60th sec

  1. I love how some of the "takesi" drivers in Tokyo spend all day listing to horse-races on their radios.

  2. Love all the blue hues in this one too +Alfie Goodrich, awesome! Question, if you don't mind. How did you manage to keep it so sharp at 1/60th, considering it's 200mm equivalent?

  3. I am not big on cars/building etc … But I like the you've been select for photo extract.

  4. A few weeks ago I've done the same as you in N.Y.

  5. The real question worth asking is, what do their faces express? Maybe there's a photographic project in it.

  6. The real,the excellent!

  7. I'm not so sure about the diptych, but the left one is freaking wonderful.

  8. +Benjeev Rendhava Practice. 🙂

+Wilson Rodrigues Shot a documentary here about five years ago about taxi drivers, which was in a few magazines. Been obsessed ever since.

+Amiel Rosario It's sort of been a project already for about five years or more. 🙂

  9. +Bryan Woodward They're not the two best shots to put together. It was more just a quick way of showing two pics from a walk last night. But I did like his two different expressions enough to want to have them in the same eyeful…

  10. Yeah!!!!   Cinematic.
